The weight of expectations
With any kind of success come expectations. Expectations to do better but, also to commit and persevere.
No matter what direction, job, career or lifestyle you’re pursuing, people expect you to do it with consistency. Eg. If you’re a baker this year, you should be a better baker next year.
This is why experience is so appealing. The more experience (or the longest track record) you have, the less risk there is that you’ll break consistency.
But, we all change.
I’ve come to realize that, the hardest part about changing life or career is breaking people’s expectations of who you are and where you’re heading.
We’re only one thing to people; make sure that that one thing is not preventing you from changing and growing when you need to grow.
